In her first competition as part of the United States National Team, University of Alabama freshman Callan Buck finished fifth in the preliminary round of the 3-meter board competition at the 18th FINA Junior Diving World Championships being held in Tucson, Ariz. this week, advancing to the finals.

The Alabama soccer team (2-1) will compete in its lone match of the week as it will face Chattanooga (1-3) on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Alabama Soccer Stadium. The Crimson Tide is coming off its first loss of the season while the Lady Mocs, who will also only play one match this week, is coming off a 2-0 loss at Austin Peay.

As expected, the NCAA waited until almost the last possible moment to reveal its decision regarding Marcell Dareus. Also as expected, Dareus will miss the first two games of the season. The announcement said that “mitigating circumstances” set the penalty at a two-game suspension rather than four games.
