On the eve of the unveiling of Todd Grantham's new 3-4 scheme, I wanted to give a couple of links and ask a couple of questions about our new defense. First, although these are old articles, our own Mark Schlabaugh has a couple of good pieces on the proliferation of the 3-4 and the personnel required to run it effectively. An interesting legal question has been raised by the Blogger Who Came In From the Cold. A warrant for Alec Ogletree's arrest was issued on Thursday, presumably before the close of the business day at 5:00 p.m. College football season began last night with the kickoff of the Wake Forest-Presbyterian game at 6:30 p.m. Accordingly, when the warrant was issued, it was still technically the offseason. Well that's just great. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of freshman safety Alec Ogletree for theft by taking. Taking a $35 moped helmet. Really, Alec? Really? As friend of the blog Darius Dawgberry noted when news of the warrant broke, it's one thing for a college kid to be caught walking down the sidewalk after having one too many beers at a downtown watering hole. Bulldog in Exile wants to do a contest for the best name in the pool, and I thought that was a great idea. However, he's suggesting that there's some sort of prize involved for the person with the best user name. An incredible article by Ed Grisamore about a little girl's fight against disease, and her family's efforts to fight childhood cancer.
