Newborg excited about new commits [$]

Knowing that close friends Landan and Levi Paulsen will be joining him at Iowa is something that Jacob Newborg is excited about, so finally seeing the secret go public today meant a lot to the longtime Hawkeye commit. Marble talks about the grind

The college basketball season is a long one, stretching from early fall until the start of spring. For Devyn Marble and the Hawkeyes it's also include playing until early April last season and a trip to Europe. Fran McCaffery hinted that perhaps his team had gotten a little tired in the past week and it showed up on the court. Marble says it's the fatigue of a long season that he and his teammates are fighting right now and he discusses how he's fighting it.

Hawkeyes battle for win

Winning in the Big Ten is never easy and that was proven again on Sunday afternoon as the Hawkeyes had to hold off a tough Purdue team to pick up their 20th win of the season. After holding a 13 point lead at halftime, Iowa lost the lead and then gained it back after a huge three pointer by Aaron White. The junior forward and junior guard Josh Oglesby talk about the win for the Hawkeyes and the key shots that helped Iowa pull out the victory.

Josh Oglesby continued his bounce-back junior campaign Sunday with a solid performance in a win against Purdue.

Gesell takes on challenge

Mike Gesell isn't used to being the guy that opposing teams look to foul late in the game, but that's exactly what happened on Sunday afternoon. Once he got the ball in the final minute, Purdue started to play the foul game and after struggling a bit from the line, Gesell knocked down the key free throws down the stretch. He talks about it and the importance of getting back in the win column.

After three straight losses, Fran McCaffery says he never hit the panic button, but today's game was definitely a gut check and he thought his team showed a lot of character in their 83-76 win over Purdue.
