Nebraska is going to take as many as three wide receivers this year in the 2011 class. More than just quantity, Nebraska needs some quality. Jay Lee from Allen (Texas) is a talented receiver with speed and big-play ability. More than that, he knows that Nebraska is talking about the possibility of early playing time for some talented receivers.

It's a win.
In fact, it's a huge win. Likely the biggest win of the season, unless the Huskers can keep the ball rolling against the Aggies tomorrow. Missouri was no doubt the favorite in this game, but clearly they either believed it too much..

One of the more versatile prospects on the west coast for 2011 would be Troy Niklas, a two-way player from Servite high school in Anaheim, California. With double digit offers in hand, Troy says two teams stick out the most at this point in his recruitment. He talks about that, and other topics, in this latest update from Big Red Report.

The scholarship offers have been arriving at a pretty good clip for Irving (Texas) Macarthur School athlete Johnny Haynes over the past few weeks. So much so that he's having a hard time keeping track of them all. I know it's only March, but I want to talk about October.
As spring football approaches you can already feel the excitement building around this 2010 team. Most people consider Nebraska a strong Big 12 championship contender which, in most years, makes you a strong national championship contender as well.
Personally, I think Nebraska is there in terms of returning talent and momentum. But this is a different set of expectations than what Pelini was operating under in his first two seasons. No

BROKEN BOW, Neb. - When Broken (Neb.) Bow linebacker prospect Nathan Scott looks at his potential for the Division I level, he has plenty of people within his own family to lean upon for advice. Scott's father Jerry Scott was an All-American for Nebraska-Kearney in the late 1970's and his uncle Jim Scott started at center for Nebraska in the early 90'

With the start of the Big 12 Conference Tournament today against No. 5-seed Missouri, No. 12 Nebraska will be looking to erase the more than forgettable memories of the past 16 games in hopes of saving its season with a league championship. The task will be anything but easy, however, as the Huskers must first find a way to beat a Missouri team they lost to twice already this year.

All the talk about conference realignment as a result of Big Ten (11) expansion may be having it's intended effect. Yesterday, Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick admitted that Notre Dame is rethinking it's football independence. A 14 or 16 team Big Ten might damage the Big East, where Notre Dame participates in most of their other sports. ESPN's Bracketology currently has Notre Dame on the bubble, but in with a #12 seed, of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Would Notre Dame

Nebraska goes into the 2010 season with a real possibility of starting two junior college offensive lineman. Ricky Henry will likely continue to start on the interior at either guard or center. Newcomer and early arrival Jermarcus Hardrick appears likely to be in immediate competition for a starting position at tackle. But does the fact that they went to junior college mean anything for their prospects? Look back at the recruits that Nebraska has brought in from the junior college ranks, you

Don’t call it Bobby Newcombe just yet, because Jamal Turner isn’t sure that it will happen or not, but Turner would entertain the idea of just getting on the field as a true freshman to help his team even if it’s not solely as a quarterback. Sure, he wants to be that starter right away, but he knows that’s probably not realistic and knows that he can help right away.

Surprised?I'm not even sure if those who reside in Oklahoma, Iowa, or any other Big 12 state, were taken back by the announcement of the conference Player of the Year in womens basketball. Despite some strong performances outside of the Big Red state, few would(or could) argue that Kelsey Griffin isn't deserving of every major award handed out this year in the womens game. Whether she collects them all or not, remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, she will be included on every ballot.
