W. Fencing. Bazarbayeva Wins Gold, 'Cats Claim Bronze at MFC...

Northwestern's lone senior Dina Bazarbayeva rose to the occasion at the Midwest Fencing Conference (MFC) Championship this weekend by claiming an individual gold medal in epée and leading the Wildcats to a third-place finish in the team event.

M. Tennis. Illinois Spoils Big Ten Opener, NU Falls 4-1

No. 23 Northwestern opened Big Ten competition to a full crowd as the `Cats took on in-state rival No. 7 Illinois. NU played some really good tennis in many toe-to-toe rallies, but the top-ten Illini ultimately emerged the victors, 4-1.

W. Basketball. Wildcats Outlast Badgers in OT, 77-73

Northwestern played its first overtime contest of the year Sunday in the 2013-14 regular-season finale and utilized the extra time to take down Wisconsin, 77-73. Four Wildcats finished in double figures with Nia Coffey's 19 leading the way but Christen Inman was close behind, scoring 18 points, including a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.

Baseball. Late Rally Falls Short for Wildcats at Tennessee Tech...

Northwestern scored early on Sunday, but not often enough as it erased a four-run deficit, but ultimately dropped the series finale to Tennessee Tech at Bush Stadium in Cookeville, Tenn., 8-6.
