USC’s new coaching staff has been hard at work getting the Trojans ready for spring ball with some grueling offseason conditioning workouts. Look inside for photos of Lane Kiffin, Ed Orgeron and the new staff in action.
The ties between the two, whose teams meet Friday in the Pac-10 women’s basketball tournament, go back three decades. Paul Westhead and Michael Cooper go way back. Back to a day when basketball shorts were short, when Converse sneakers ruled, when Westhead coached the Lakers and Cooper was his defensive stopper.
USC sophomore Briana Gilbreath has added to her list of accolades for the season with another high honor coming from the Pac-10 Conference. Gilbreath has been selected the Pac-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Year, sharing the award with Stanford senior Rosalyn Gold-Onwude.
Freshman Ariel Rittenhouse and sophomore Victoria Ishimatsu finished first and second, respectively, on the 1-meter springboard on Thursday (March 11) at the 2010 Zone E Championships in Austin, Texas. USC sophomore Harrison Jones was fourth on 3-meter with 772.50 points.
The No. 15 USC men's golf team (as ranked by Golfweek.com), led by two-time All-American Matt Giles and an up-and-coming group of underclassmen, continues the spring slate at the 2010 Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters at the Southern Highlands G.C. in Las Vegas, Friday through Sunday (March 12-14).

The Oaks Christian 2012 graduate has two years before he signs with a college, but he already knows what college he will attend. LOS ANGELES - Mike Olt's RBI double provided the winning run in the top of the ninth Wednesday as the Connecticut Huskies defeated the USC Trojans, 5-4, in non-conference action at Dedeaux Field.
